The Institute of Information Assurance (IIA) promotes undergraduate and graduate students’ interest in Northeastern’s programs that prepare them to protect the nation’s cyber infrastructure and combat security threats. As part of this effort, the IIA:

• Supports student involvement with information assurance activities.
• Encourages development of multidisciplinary programs and courses as well as student co-op and research opportunities related to information assurance.
• Mentors students interested in information assurance.
• Maintains close ties to industry through Northeastern’s nationally recognized cooperative education program and collaborations with MITRE, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, BAE Systems, and other organizations.
